Having no plans on a Saturday
night can go from boring to blissful with a few
fun tips to beat the boredom blues and spring-clean your life. So, pack away the bling for
the night and put the zing back into your
own personal environment. You should wake up in
your 'new' bedroom, with your 'new'
wardrobe and your 'new' skin feeling refreshed,
cleansed and ready for the world!
Here are a few ideas…
- Spring-clean your closet. The golden rule for throwing away clothing is, if you haven't worn it in a year, it's time to GO. If you're unsure about whether something should stay or go, try it on. Try it on with different outfits and work on giving it a new look, a new feel. If it still has you feeling a little 'ho hum' pop it in the Lifeline bag and donate it to someone who will love it.
Don't waste time grieving its loss because you're simply making space in your closet for something gorgeous and new!
- Spring clean your make-up kit. Make-up can develop bacteria if it's kept too long and besides the health risk, that violet eyeliner probably should have been tossed out along
with the 'off-the-shoulder' sling top…last year! So, take everything out and give your make-up bag/kit/shoebox…a good wash. Then, as you go
through each piece ask yourself these questions:
Is it flattering? Some
make-up trends are simply that, trends.
So, if that fashionable plum coloured lipstick
makes you look like Elvira the witch,
toss it. It's not for you.
Is it broken, gluggy or housing bugs? If yes, it's too old. There is nothing worse
than eye lashes so stuck together they form
one large block of black goo. Powdered eye shadows
are the only items that have a lengthy shelf
life, so if it's broken, squashed, smelly or
solid when it's supposed to be liquid, toss
it! And the bugs? Well, you can form
your own opinion on that one!
- Spring clean your body. Run a nice, bubbly, hot bath. Light sweet-smelling candles and put on your favourite girly CD. Put a conditioning treatment in your hair and tie it up in a top knot out of the way. Apply a deep cleansing facial mask and relax into the water letting any tension out of your body. When you're suitably relaxed and the clay has done its work, wash your face and start on your body. Shave your legs. Then, use a grainy exfoliater and a loofah or sponge, give your skin a good work over so that it glows. Don't forget in-between your toes! Rinse out your hair, lather on some body lotion and slip into bed ready to wake up on Sunday morning feeling wonderful!
