Sex and the City, the movie, premiered in London overnight to much fanfare. Fans apparently queued overnight to get a glimpse of Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis (otherwise known as Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte). We sent some fab What A Girl Needs readers to see the hilarious Amanda Bynes movie Sydney White this week, and here are their reviews...

If you're looking for a funny, smart and endearing movie to see this summer, here's one that fits the bill! The Jane Austen Book Club stars the fabulous Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) and hottie Marc Blucas (Riley from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), along with a cast of other great actors. Here's the film's synopsis:

Hilary stars in "Greta" as a waitress who falls for an ambitious cook at a restaurant where they both work, but as their love blossoms, she has to overcome concerns of her grandparents, who are worried about the mixed-race relationship and her boyfriend's criminal past. Sounds like a much meatier role for Hilary!
Tickets for Hilary's Australian concerts are on sale now, and if you have some savings to buy a ticket, I highly recommend going! A friend and I saw her during her last tour, and she was awesome… plus, the stage show involved hot pink lighting on a white staircase, which was super-hot and worth the ticket price alone!
Hilary seems to appeal to girls of all ages (my friends and I are in our 20s and unashamedly love the Duff), and she seems to be a positive role model for young girls, especially now that she seems happier and more comfortable in her own skin, after ditching her self-imposed ultra-skinny phase. She also seems stronger and more independent from the gaze of the media, as well as in her professional and personal relationships.
Not only that, her current album, "Dignity", is a great one to inspire you to get dancing around the house and get fit 'n' fab at the same time.
So, get ready for more Hilary than you can handle in the next few months!

Being a huge fan of the Bourne series of films, I've been hanging out to see the latest instalment, The Bourne Ultimatum, since I first heard about it. I definitely wasn't disappointed! These movies work so well because of a good story line, the perfect casting of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, and because there's no reliance on special effects or anything too fancy, which makes the far-fetched storyline and stunts so believable. The Bourne Ultimatum really manages to whisk you away from your cinema seat to feel like you're really getting caught up in the story itself (surely I'm not the only one who felt kinda stressed after the major car chase scene… phew! It sounded so real!)
It's also refreshing to see an action movie where women (namely Julia Stiles and Joan Allen) have pivotal roles, and are not just there as eye candy or as the main character's love interest. It adds so much more to a movie when the characters break away from the usual action movie clichés.
It's probably a good idea to watch the previous Bourne films (The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy) to really enjoy Ultimatum, but even if you haven't, you must see this one on the big screen because some scenes just won't be the same on a TV screen. It's definitely worth your $9 on a cheapy Tuesday!
Next on my "to see" list are Ratatouille, Hairspray and Surf's Up.
